Diving Adelaide provides training and guided diving in South Australia, a state where local knowledge matters disproportionately because the best sites are spread out and strongly seasonal.

The Fleurieu Peninsula is the default weekend destination from Adelaide. Rapid Bay jetty is the state's most recognised dive site and the most reliable place in Australia to find a leafy seadragon; Second Valley offers reef and rock formations in a sheltered cove; Port Noarlunga's reef is shore-accessible via a jetty and doubles as the state's main training site.

Finding leafy seadragons is a skill rather than luck, and it is exactly the sort of thing a guided dive delivers. They are superbly camouflaged, drift rather than swim, and are found by searching slowly around jetty piles and weed edges. Divers often find their first one only after someone points it out — and then find three more on the same dive.

Guided trips further afield are where a local operation adds most value. Whyalla for the cuttlefish aggregation between roughly May and August, Edithburgh on the Yorke Peninsula for macro and night diving, and the Fleurieu jetties year-round.

South Australian diving is cold-water diving. Thirteen to twenty-two degrees means a seven millimetre suit or semi-dry, hoods in winter, and considerably more weight than tropical divers expect.

Worth confirming: the training agency and course range; which trips run to Whyalla, the Fleurieu and Yorke Peninsula and on what schedule; whether servicing and fills are available in-house; equipment hire sizing, particularly in thicker suits; and Nitrox availability. For cuttlefish-season trips, book well ahead — it is the state's busiest diving period.
